Questions and answers

A delivery notice is the process of formally notifying a party of a planned arrival or delivery of goods. It involves providing information on the expected delivery date to the consignee or the loading point. A delivery notice contains key details such as:

  • predicted delivery date and time,
  • tracking number,
  • type of goods,
  • transport details (e.g. vehicle number, driver details).

Notification allows the recipient to prepare for the receipt of goods, which may include organising warehouse space, scheduling appropriate unloading equipment, or informing relevant staff. It is an essential element in the logistics process, especially in industries where the handling of goods requires precise organisation.

Before cargo clearance, it is worth ensuring that all necessary documents are complete and correctly filled out. Here is a list of key documents that are usually required:

  • Bill of Lading (B/L) – a document confirming the conclusion of a carriage contract and the terms of goods transport.
  • Commercial invoice – contains information about the value of the goods, transaction details, and data of the seller and buyer.
  • Copy of identity card
  • Authorisation

The anonymisation of identity documents is particularly important due to the personal data contained within them, which can be used to identify an individual. When anonymising an identity document, such as an ID card, several key elements need to be considered.

Data that should be visible:

  • first name(s)
  • Surname
  • PESEL number
  • Name, series and document number
  • Document expiry date
  • The lower part on the other side of the document (the so-called MRZ zone)
